
Discovering the vineyards and canals of Burgundy
With almost 1,000 kilometres of signposted cycle routes, Burgundy is an ideal destination for cyclists. Today, rehabilitated old railway lines allow you to explore the region's heritage by bike, between prestigious vineyards, canals and authentic villages.
On this cycling trip, you'll discover the historic town of Beaune: a fortified city with cobbled streets and famous hospices, recognised as the region's wine capital, where you can visit the Burgundy Wine Museum. There's also Cluny, a pretty French commune where you can discover the magnificent abbey. Your holiday ends in the medieval town of Tournus. Make the most of your stay in Tournus to visit Saint Philibert Abbey and the Michel Grezaud Bicycle Museum.
During your cycling holiday, you'll be following the famous "Burgundy Wine Route", which crosses the most prestigious part of the Burgundy vineyards, passing through 38 picturesque wine-producing villages over a distance of 60 km. Along the way, you'll pass through a variety of landscapes: wine-growing hills, rolling roads, majestic oak forests, impressive châteaux and charming wine-growing villages. A pleasant journey through the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. Take advantage of your holiday to taste some prestigious wines such as Meursault and Montrachet.
