During this... looking at a flower often gives me a feeling of happiness, of peace, thanks to their beauty, and when I painted these flowers in ink, I wanted to play with the word...
The flowers take me back to my life drive, reminding me of my fragility, the ephemeral nature of my life, but also the power of this drive that makes a poppy break through concrete, capsize my heart, and find a precious balance and emotional stability in this ocean of life experiences.
I'm fascinated by the pistils, stamens and petals... velvet, silk... a harmony of vivid colours, a little perfection in such a small living being... " Joëlle Kem Lika
The exhibition features flowers in Indian ink and coloured ink, in small and medium formats... as well as large canvases: waves, water lilies, bouquets... themes dear to the artist, as well as works for children.
