All right, Grosner! - The river that flows backwards
An artistic adventure along the Grosne, produced by CinéRessources71 in association with La Chahutte.
La Rivière qui coule à l'envers is a sound creation project that aims to paint a portrait of the Grosne river over two years, proposed by Christina Firmino and Julia Pinget, the artists involved in the project.
How do we relate to the river? How can we get to know it, grasp it and understand it? How do we meet it and the creatures that inhabit it, whether trees, fish, animals, plants or minerals? How do we describe and tell the story of the relationship between this natural element and those with whom it coexists, both human and non-human?
The project began at the beginning of July 2024. During this first year, 2024-2025, we will be collecting, exploring, surveying and meeting the river and its inhabitants, both human and non-human. In 2025-2026, the project will involve supporting and leading participatory workshops to conduct a collective writing process in order to imagine the sound fiction that will paint the portrait of this river.
In spring 2025, the documentary collection currently under way will result in the publication of 10 podcasts that will enable people to discover and get to know the Grosne river and the current issues affecting it, through the words of the river's stakeholders.
A first event is planned for Cluny in December 2024, with activities aimed at the general public, workshops with the Centre Social and Massilly and with the Cluny school, and a closing evening on Wednesday 11 December at the Théâtre de Arts, featuring a radio programme and the screening of a documentary film on the issues raised by the project.
The project is being run in close collaboration with the association La Chahutte and its participatory active education tools (https://lachahutte.fr/).
The project is supported by the Agence de l'Eau RMC, the EPAGE, the Conseil Départemental 71 and the town of Cluny.
