Day 1 Arrival
Arrival at the Ecolodge de Batilly en Puisaye near Bonny-sur-Loire. Overnight stay in a caravan or in the trees.
Day 2 Batilly - Loire - Batilly 26 km
On this first day, you'll head for the Loire. At Beaulieu sur Loire, you can board canoes and paddle for an hour or two. Return to Batilly along the banks of the Loire. Overnight in a caravan or in the trees.
Day 3 Batilly - Pont Canal - Batilly 31 km
Leave Batilly and head for the Loire, which you will follow all the way to Briare along the signposted Loire à Vélo itinerary. At Briare, you'll discover the famous Briare Canal Bridge, Gustave Eiffel's masterpiece and the first canal bridge to span the Loire, built between 1890 and 1896.) Briare is also famous for its enamels, and you can visit the Musée des Emaux or go on a mini treasure hunt in the Décharge des Emaux, a particularly unusual place where you'll find a veritable sea of enamels. Return to Batilly along the banks of the Loire. Overnight in a caravan or in the trees.
Day 4 Batilly - Saint Fargeau 23 km
Drive through the countryside on the quiet roads around Saint Fargeau. When you arrive in Saint Fargeau, you can visit the Château de Saint Fargeau or the Ferme du Château.
Day 5 Saint Fargeau - Guédelon - Saint Fargeau 19 km
Drive to the medieval castle of Guédelon. In 1999, on the initiative of a local woman who owned forests in Puisaye, the first stone of a medieval castle was laid. It took 30 years to build, using methods from the Middle Ages - an extraordinary adventure that is unique in the world. The visit lasts around 3 hours, and you can admire the work of all the trades, and children can take part in fun workshops. On the way back you can stop off at Lac du Bourdon for a swim. Day 6 Saint Fargeau - Parc Boutissaint - Saint Fargeau 24 km
Today, you'll head off to the Parc de Boutissaint, a wildlife park where more than 400 animals roam freely over 400 hectares. You can even make friends with the doe Caramel, who lets you pet her (don't forget to bring her some dry bread, she loves it!). Activities for children and picnics in the park. Nearby Boutissaint is also home to the Bois de la Folie adventure park, where you can climb from tree to tree. Cycle back to Saint Fargeau through the regional park.
Day 7 Departure
The Puisaye, part of Burgundy, offers a landscape where nature flourishes. It's the ideal setting for a family cycling holiday, punctuated by an abundance and variety of activities: adventure park, the medieval Château de Guédelon, animal park, nature parks, walks along the Loire, etc.
